Thank you to the wonderful people at Digital Promise who have supported and facilitated the inclusion of technology in the classroom and have always supported innovation.

We could not have done this project without the help of our amazing local volunteers. Over 30 volunteers attended our "Connecting with Professionals" Event on March 15th where they interacted with our students, listen to their project ideas, and gave them valuable feedback. We were blown away by the expertise of our volunteers and our students loved interacting with adults that worked in the fields that they were passionate about.

We would love to hold similar events next year and would love to have volunteers work with our students. If you are interested, please contact us for further information.

We wanted to say a special thank you to the hardworking people at Thrively.com. Our students started off the year by taking a strengths based assessment on Thrively. The results of this survey really helped us get to know our students and allowed us to understand the topics they might be interested in.Thrively helped to make communication and video sharing between students in different states possible this year. Patrick Dela Cruz and other members of his team helped to make this website useful and meaningful for us this year and we are so thankful! Please check out their website and learn about your personal strengths and everything Thrively has to offer!

Support

We could not have participated in such an ambitious project without help from our amazing superintendent Dr. Devin Vodicka and interim superintendent Dr. Matt Doyle. Vista Unified School District is so lucky to have an administration who is so devoted to student learning and integrating innovation and creativity in the classroom. Our spectacular principal Elise Ochenduszko supported us and made sure that our students had every opportunity to thrive. Without their support and guidance, this project would not have been possible and we are immensely grateful to have been a part of it.

We also wanted to say thank you to the teachers, students, and administrators from Kettle Moraine Middle School in Wisconsin and Shore Middle School in Ohio. We loved having the privilege of working with you this year and our students had a blast getting to know you!

GET INVOLVED

Cisco has made video conferencing between students and teachers so easy this year. They have worked to support us with the technology and communication this year and have really helped to personalize the services they provided to the three participating school districts. Students were able to communicate in real time with students from other parts of the country and we believe that it was incredibly empowering for them.
